Meeting Mindfulness FAQs

The series is designed to increase students’ mental health awareness, foster mindfulness, and empower youth to develop self-awareness and confidence through activities like yoga, breathing exercises, and mindful listening. It’s aimed at students in 6th–9th grade.

Mindfulness is being consciously aware of the present moment. It helps students manage stress, build resilience, develop coping skills, and strengthen their self-awareness and connection with themselves and others.

The workshops were created by the Leadership Council in response to student mental health needs. After a successful pilot at Summer Camp SHARK 2023, the series was refined to support diverse youth and foster meaningful impact on mental health.

This art-focused subseries, created by Girl Scout Kristen Chan, uses art therapy to teach mindfulness. It provides students with creative outlets to explore mental health, express themselves, and develop unique skills.
