ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

After School Academy

The Youth Center has become a second home for many local middle schoolers, a place where friendships grow, confidence builds, and core memories are made. Throughout the year, students explore a variety of interests including cooking, sports, skatepark sessions, crafting, STEM activities, social games, and more. Whether they are building, creating, experimenting, learning new skills, or simply spending time with friends, each day offers opportunities to grow. Some days they come ready to learn something new, and other days they just want a safe place to connect and unwind. Our goal is to support each student’s strengths, encourage their interests, and create a space where they feel empowered, engaged, and at home.

Whisk Takers

Cooking Crew

The Whisk Takers Club, part of our After School Academy for middle school students, introduces essential cooking and life skills. Throughout the year, students learn how to plan meals, budget, create grocery lists, explore diverse cuisines, and practice proper dining etiquette, culminating in earning their Youth Center food handler license.
