Explore Anatomy & Health
Anatomy Adventure is a 10-week program that introduces students to the fascinating world of the human body. Through hands-on experiments and interactive activities, participants learn how organs, muscles, and systems work together to keep the body healthy. The program encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of health science in a fun and engaging way.

Program Benefits
Explore the Human Body
Explore the heart, brain, digestive, and respiratory systems.
Hands-On Activities
Conduct hands-on experiments and create detailed body models.
Stay Healthy
Learn how diseases spread and ways to maintain good health.
Healthy Community
Develop solutions for a sustainable and healthier future.
Present Your Discoveries
Share your knowledge through a final interactive presentation.
10-Week Workshop Overview
Two session per year.
Session 1: January – March
Session 2: August – October
In Week 1, students will learn how germs spread and why hygiene is important. They’ll explore experiments to see how germs affect our world and discover healthy habits to stay clean.
Activities: Dish Soap & Pepper Experiment | Appearing Germs Experiment
In Week 2, students will dive into how the heart works. They’ll explore blood flow and see why the heart is so important.
Activities: Blood Pumping Experiment | Heart Function Simulation
Students will discover the anatomy of the eye. They’ll create models to understand how the eye helps us see and how all parts work together.
Activities: Eyeball “Dissection” with a Hard Boiled Egg | Eye Structure Construction
In Week 4, students will learn about the brain and nervous system. They will build models to see how the brain controls our body and mind.
Activities: Brain Model Creation | Pipe Cleaner Neurons
Students will explore the digestive system and how food turns into energy. They’ll test out how the stomach processes food and keeps us healthy.
Activities: Digestion & Excretory System Model | Digestive System Investigation
In Week 6, students will learn how lungs help us breathe. They’ll build a model to explore how the lungs oxygenate our blood.
Activities: Model Lung Building | Respiratory System Exploration
Students will learn how diseases spread and how we can stop contamination. They’ll build water purification systems to explore ways to reduce disease spread.
Activities: Water Purification System Design | Contamination Reduction Experiment
This week, students will apply everything they’ve learned to create a healthy community. They’ll design a sustainable society focused on health and well-being.
Activities: Cultivating a Healthy Society | Community Health Blueprint
Students will start preparing for their final presentations. They will practice communicating what they’ve learned and how to present their projects.
Activities: Presentation Planning | Public Speaking Practice
In the final week, students will present their projects to classmates and parents. They will show off everything they’ve learned and practiced.
Activities: Final Project Presentation | Public Speaking and Peer Feedback

Why Anatomy Adventure?
Hands-on Learning
Students will engage in interactive experiments that make science come to life. They’ll get to touch, explore, and discover how the human body works.
Explore Real-Life Science
Each week focuses on a different part of the body. Kids will learn about systems like the heart, brain, lungs, and digestive system in a fun, engaging way.
Build a Healthy Future
By the end of the program, kids will understand the importance of health. They’ll know how diseases spread, how to stay healthy, and how to design a better, sustainable world.
Meet Adrian Lopez
Adrian Lopez, a Los Alamitos High School student in the Class of 2027, is a passionate advocate for his community and youth leadership. As rising Vice President of The Youth Center’s Leadership Council of Students and Junior Co-President of ASB and the Rotary Club, he actively supports initiatives that inspire peers. He also founded the LAHS Heart Club to encourage students to explore healthcare careers, bringing creativity and energy to every project he leads.
Though his passion for medicine and biology developed in high school, Adrian quickly found his calling and wanted younger students to have similar opportunities. Partnering with The Youth Center, he launched the Anatomy Adventure workshop to introduce elementary and middle school students to medicine through fun, hands-on learning. With dreams of becoming a doctor or professor, Adrian aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and healthcare innovators.
