It's a fact of life: parents have to work long after their children are released from school. So where do the kids go?
The Youth Center's After School Program is an alternative to kids going home to an empty house and idle activities.
Concurrently with dismissal from school the Youth Center opens its doors to kids who want to take part in supervised activities. Most activities are designed specifically for middle school children but kids as young as 7 years old are invited to attend this drop-in program. The Youth Center offers ping-pong, carom boards, pool, air hockey, board games, arts & crafts, sports, movies and much, much more. A Team of enthusiastic recreational staff members supervise all segments of this program.
The Learning Center is part of the Youth Center's After School Program. Staffed by a qualified adult, it provides a quite, supervised place to complete homework assignments and get help when needed. And if specialized assistance is required the Youth Center will arrange for a volunteer tutor to help a student with his/her math, science, english or almost any other subject.
The generosity of the community makes it possible to offer this
program at no cost or membership requirement.
